Andrea Doncaster Engineering Limited, is a small local engineering firm specializing in structural consulting for residential applications, including multi-unit residential and small commercial projects. Our clients include homeowners, developers, contractors, architects, and designers.We are an industry expert in wood construction and work with several designers on high performance buildings, such as Passive House.

We were recognized by the Canadian Wood Council as Atlantic Engineer of the year in 2017 and 2019. Andrea Doncaster Engineering Limited has been the structural engineer on numerous projects that have received the Lieutenant Governors Awards for Architecture.

Our current staff consists of nine employees, one Professional Engineer, two Engineer-in-Training and four computer aided drafting technicians. Our firm has a commitment to education and participates in the Engineering Co-op programme from Dalhousie University and the Architectural Engineering Technician programme at the Nova Scotia Community College.

Our principal engineer is licensed to practice in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Our principal Engineer is also on the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes and the National Research Council Standing Committee on Structural Design Codes.
